You want to do what?” George, the Orc Barista, asked.

“Karaoke — you know, where you sing,” said Sam, the Elf Barista.

George grunted. “I don’t know. I’m an Orc. We have unique tastes in music. Remember when we sang Orc Warsongs? Someone called the guards. Thankfully, the captain is a fan.”

Sam laughed, “Hey, this would give you a chance to try something new! Think about it.” He swept his hands above his head, “Lights, stage, a magical band, and all of us having a great time.”

George glared at Sam, “The last time we had a ‘great time,’ it involved a dragon, a feral gnome, and a…”

“Ok, ok, ok,” Sam interrupted, raising his hands. “My big right toe still hurts.”

“Mine too,” George grumbled. “So, how will you get a magical band and a stage?”

Sam looked down sheepishly. “I asked Sparklegrip if we could borrow hers.”

“Sparklegrip, the bartender at the Wand and the Weird?” George asked, raising an eyebrow. The tavern was notorious for its strange happenings. “Why would she let us borrow her magical band? Don’t they do karaoke there?”

Sam’s smile widened, “They do, but she’s gotta close the tavern for extra cleaning. They had a problem with exploding slime beer. She said she would let us…
